S. Army, was honored at three events prior to his departure. On Sunday morning, at an as- sembly of all pupils in the Shaarey Zedek religious school, he was presented with a certifi- cate indicating that the boys and girls of Congregation Shaa- rey Zedek honored him by in- scribing his name in the Golden Book of the Jewish National Fund in Jerusalem. Honored by Thousands Rabbi A. M, Hershman, Theo- dore Baruch, Robert Kasle, president of the Junior Congre- tion, and other spokesmen for the student body expressed their good wishes to Rabbi Adler. Monday evening, Congrega- tion Shaarey Zedek honored Rabbi Adler at a farewell gath- ering to which the entire com- munity was invited. Several thousand people came to say farewell to Rabbi Adler. Men and women among all walks of life, of all faiths, were among these thousands, and the gathering in Rabbi Adler's honor was believed to have broken a record in attendance for such affairs. Round Table Luncheon The Detroit Round Table of Catholics, Jews and Protestants honored Rabbi Adler at a lunch- eon at the Standard Club on Monday. Spokesmen at the Round Table luncheon, at which Judge Er- nest A. O'Brien presided, in- cluded Henry Wineman, co- chairman of the Round Table, and Dr. Henry Hitt Crane. A resolution which was presented to Rabbi Adler, was signed by the three co-chairmen of the Round Table: Judge O'Brien, Mr. Wine- man and Edgar A. Guest. The resolution reads in part: The Resolution "There are hours in the lives of men which, because of the opportunity for the recognition of outstanding achievements, set them apart from other hours of life.
