CLUB LASALLE did it again!
. . . The "miniature" nite-club,
owned and operated by the stu-
dents of Central High, made its
second appearance last Friday
eve and again proved little short
of sensational . . . Almost 1,200
kids took over every table in the
gym and loudly applauded an-
other two-show hit . . . An added
feature was the Tin Rail, switch-
ed from the school lunch room
into a hot dog and soft drink
snackery.

Pointing out that "nothing has occurred
during the past year to make the policy
of exempting Italian aliens from restric-
tions appear Mistaken," Kurt R. Grossman,
writing in the Nation, asks that the stigma
of enemy alien be lifted from German ref-
ugees, Jews and non-Jews. "I wish to
emphasize that in thus removing the label
of alien enemy from Italians, we do not
forget that there are other loyal persons
how classed. as alien enemies."
The article points out that "not long
ago, Edward J. Ennis, director • of enemy-
alien control, said that refugees had in-
creased America's population by 0.2 per
cent, but that the cultural enrichment they
had brought to this country was 'much
greater than is expressed in this figure'."
The charge made by David Horowitz,
formerly the "Angel Gabriel" of the Moses
Guibbory sect, that Joseph P. Kennedy,
former U. S. Ambassador to Great Britain,
and Orlando Weber, a retired industrialist,
had made financial contributions to the
sect, was denied by Blake Carter, radio
commentator and treasurer of the Society
of the Bible in the Hands of Its Creators,
which is the name of the sect.

by Henry Montor, executive director of
the American Zionist Emergency Council,
was released by the Scripps-Howard or-

The Children's Revolt
- A novel "revolt" was staged
recently by a party of Jerusalem
school children who had gone
out to help settlers in a kibbutz
to bring in the harvest of Emek
Jezreel. The sturdy boys and
girls, 16 - year - olds, complained
that they were being discrimi-
nated against when they found
the food served to them was bet-
ter than the settlers themselves
were receiving.
"We want the same kind of
fare as you are getting," they
protested. "No favoritism for
us. 'We've come here to share
your life and intend • to do it in
every respect."
Delighted by this new show of
independence, the kibbutz man-
agers adjusted the youngsters'
diet.
