ACTIVITIES IN SOCIETY

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Field were hosts to a group of friends at
dinner at the Seward Hotel on Tuesday evening, in honor of Miss
Maxa Nordau, who addressed the combined meeting of the local
Hadassah chapter and the Zionist Organization of Detroit that eve-
ning, at the Shaarey Zedek.

Miss Ethel Isenberg, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William B. Isen-
berg of 2235 Edison Ave. who is attending Bradford Jr. College,
at Bradford, Mass., is coming home on Dec. 21, to spend the holidays
with her parents. She is spending a few days in New York City
prior to her homecoming.

Mr. and Mrs. Sigmund Brin left on Dec. 15 for California.
Lt. and Mrs. M. R.. Kavetz and son have returned to Camp Buck-
ley, Denver, Colo., after spending 10 days with their parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Ben Tolmich of the Wilshire and Mr. and Mrs. R. Kravetz of
'Monterey Ave.
Rabbi Leon Fram is touring Michigan colleges under the auspices
cif the Jewish Chautauqua Society. He already has addressed the
student convocation at Hillsdale, a Baptist college, and the student
convocation of Albion, a Methodist college.
Lt. Herschel H. Levine, T. C., son of Mr. and Mrs. David A.
!Levine of Burlingame Ave., has returned for a short leave after a
tour of duty in Africa, Sicily and Italy. He is a Transport Corn-
! mander from the New York Post of Embarkation and at the end
of his leave will return to overseas duty.
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Freedman of Roselawn Ave. entertained
i 200 guests at dinner at Moss' Hall in honor of the Bar Mitzvah of
!their son, Sheldon Myles. Among the out-of-town guests were Mrs.
I Anna Freedman and Mrs. Frederick Benz of Rochester, N. Y.
Cadet Martin Bader, son of Mr. and Mrs. Abe Bader of Prairie
lAve., was graduated from Meteorology School at Chanute Field, Ill.,
and has been promoted to Second Lieutenant. He is now stationed
i at Selfridge Field.
Mr. and Mrs. William Fleischman have moved from Muirland
lAve. and are now residing at 3434 Cambridge.
Aviation Cadet Jerome Bloom of Webb Ave. was graduated from
Yale University Aviation Engineering Department and is now sta-
r tioned at Rome, N. Y.
Mrs. Harry B. Keidan, her daughter, Vivian, and son, Fred, are
leaving for Miami BeaCh, Fla., where they will spend the winter.
Dr. and Mrs. Ed J. Levitt of Muirland Ave. are leaving for a
month's stay in Florida.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Aller of Bayliss Ave. entertained a group of
friends at dinner on Sunday evening in honor of their 10th wedding
anniversary.
Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Coons of Webb Ave. have received word that
their son, Richard D. Coons, has been promoted to Second Lieutenant
in the Air Corps and is now stationed at Spring Lake, N. J.
Honoring Mrs. Viola Weiss, formerly of Detroit and now residing
in California, Mrs. Samuel Danto entertained a group of friends at a
tea.
Mrs. H. M. Milliman entertained the members of the Autograph
Committee of Temple Israel Sisterhood at a luncheon Dec. 7.
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel B. Keene of Atkinson Ave. spent the past
week in New York.
Saturday afternoon, Dec. 11, Miss Beverly Ruth Wasserman
entertained 14 guests at the Book-Casino, on her 16th birthday.
In the evening her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Wasserman of
2724 Lawrence Ave., had an informal gathering for relatives and
friends.

Edwin Lieberman will leave on Dec. 21 to visit his sister,
Marilyn, in Austin, Tex. Before returning home he will also visit in
Waco, Tex.

Yagoda-Epstein: The marriage
of Florence Epstein, daughter of
Abraham Epstein and the late
Mrs. Gussie Epstein, to Jack Ya-
goda, son of Mr. and Mrs. Barney
Yagoda, was solemnized Dec. 5
at the Blaine Synagogue. Rabbi
Stollman officiated, Cantor Shul-
singer assisting.
The bride was attired in honey
beige with brown accessories and
carried an orchid on a white Bi-
ble. She was given in marriage
by her father and was attended
by her sister, Arlene, who were
a wood violet dress and dusty
pink accessories. Sam Yagoda,
brother of the bridegroom, was
best man.
The newlyweds are spending
their honeymoon in New York
City and on their return will re-
side at 2527 Blaine Ave.
