There are also 6,000 Jews among the supernumerary police in Palestine and 8,000 in the regular police. The Palestine volunteer force, which was organized in 1940 when it was feared that the Ger- man army would invade Pales- tine, will be disbanded this week, the London press reported. The step is being taken as a result of the fact that Palestine is no long- er in any danger. The volunteer force has been trained and equipped by the British army for cooperation with army units.
