Representatives of Jewish Organizations Here

Present Reports on Behalf of War Chest Drive

Representatives of Jewish organizations of Detroit, assem7_
bled at the Jewish. Home for Aged on Sunday morning to
present reports on their activities in behalf of the War Chest,
in many instances increased the .pledges- they made to . last
year's campaign. A number of others- renewed their lost year7S
contributions, and all indications are that new standards, for
giving will be set in the current' drive.

In a stirring address delivered to the gathering, Dr. B.
Benedict Glazer, Rabbi of Temple Beth El, declared that our
people should give to this year's drive in a spirit of gratitude
that we are on the giving end rather than the receiving end.

Declaring that the Jews of America are the most blessed
group of our people in the world, Rabbi Glazer urged that
individuals and organizations should contribute to the War
Chest in a spirit of thanksgiving for the bounties that are ours
at this time.
