THE jEWISH NEWS

IT ALL DEPENDS ON M

I know the misery and the suffering of war.

I know the countless thousands—men, women and children who have been
uprooted; their homes destroyed; their lives shattered; their hopes dimmed.

I know that many of them are hungry because they have no bread.

I know that many of them are naked because they have no clothes

I know that many of them are cold because they have no shelter.

I know the hundreds and thousands of lost children—fatherless and motherless,
forlorn and lonely, ragged and spindly, haunted and hunted.

I can see them all—bleeding from a thousand wounds and I must help to bind
those wounds.

I know that these countless thousands men, women and children look to me
for help.

I KNOW IT ALL DEPENDS ON ME

I must resolve to strengthen all the hearts that are weak and all the spirits that are
bowed down.

I must come to the aid and rescue of all those who wait . . for my help.

The War Chest is my unbroken bond with those who are suffering.

I must work; I must support; I must give liberally and generously to the War Chest
for those all over the world in distress, for our men and women in the
armed forces, and for those at home who need a helping hand.

—

When I make my pledge to the War Chest I must take into account the needs of
THE ALLIED JEWISH CAMPAIGN, MAJOR WAR RELIEF APPEALS,
DETROIT COMMUNITY FUND AND OUR MILITARY FORCES.

As an American, as a Detroiter, as a Jew, all of these great causes command my
sincere and intensified support.

As a solicitor, I shall work shoulder to shoulder with all good citizens for our

Allies, our men and women in service, and our own neighbors of all faiths.

As a contributor, I shall give liberally and generously, in keeping with the greater
war-time needs.

I am pledged to do my share. I KNOW IT ALL DEPENDS ON ME.

In Nazi Germany it all depends on Hitler, but in a democracy—IN AMERICA

I KNOW IT ALL DEPENDS ON ME
