Picard, Congressman 'John D.
Dingell and many other import-
ant leaders as members of the
Michigan branch of the American
Palestine Committee, the move-
ment to oppose planned • restric-
tions incorporated in the White
Paper is expected to gather
momentum.
Further announcements re-
garding the Nov. 2 meeting will
be made next week. -
The Detroit meeting is part of
a -nationwide series of public ral-
lies in celebration of' the anni-
versary of the Balfour Declara-
tion and in opposition to the
White Paper.

In co-operation with the United
Hebrew Schools, Louis Marshall
Lodge of Bnai Brith sold approxi-
mately $83,000 in War Bonds dur-
ing the High Holy Days, at serv-
ices conducted under the auspices
of the schools, it was announced
by Nathan Yaffa of the schools'
synagogue committee.
Services in each of three of the
buildings operated by the United
Hebrew Schools were marked
with talks by members of the
Lodge, discussing the need for
further contribution to the war
effort. The majority of pledges
were made in 'addition to regular
purchases by members of the con-
gregations.
Alvin B. Levin spoke at the
services at the Philadelphia-
Byron Center, where Morris
Lachover was in charge. David
I. Rosin addressed the congrega-
tions at the Rose Sittig Cohen
Bldg. and the David W Simons
Bldg., where Morris Fishman,
Abraham Lachover and Nathan
Yaffa contributed toward the
success of the program. Lodge
members who assisted 'were
Thomas Zohott, Dr. Lawrence
Yaffa, Oscar Bank, Irving Fields,
and others.
The Lodge expects to continue
its bond sales campaign indefin-
itely. Louis Fields and Albert
Fisher are in charge. A tentative
goal of $500,000 has been set for
the next few months.

Boys who play drums or bass
and .baritone band instruments
are invited to join the Boys Vic-
tory Band of the Department of
Parks and Recreation. These in-
struments are furnisl-ed.
The band is made up of youths
from 14 to 17. They present con-
certs during the summer season
in the public parks and during
the winter at various civic affairs.
