Schaver, president of the Detroit branch of the Na- tional Labor Committee for Pal- estine, (Gewerkshaften), an- nounced that new offices have been rented at 9142 Linwood Ave. The new headquarters in- clude a conference room and three offices. Reviewing the Gewerkshaften activities during the past year, Mr. Schaver extended the move- ment's greetings on the New Year to the Jewish community of Detroit. Ih a • statement by Harry Schumer, treasurer of the Gewerkshaften drive, it is made known • that • more than $50,000 has been remitted for Palestine activities through the Histadruth, Palestine Jewish Federation of Labor, as a result of last year's drive. Mr. Schumer expressed con- fidence that this sum will be •exceeded in the drive this year, to commence the end of Decem- ber.
