Conducted by Detroit War Chest

Orthodox Rabbis
Make Bond Plea

In a special appeal issued to

The grim businesS of war is to take life . . . with guns,
tanks, bombers, battleships. The humanitarian business of
democratic civilians is to salvage life and hope . . . with
foods, clothing, medical supplies, training,
morale, advice and financial assistance.
The greatest human salvage attempts
are 'being made unitedly by many forces
for good organized into the National War
Fund with which the War Chest of Met-
ropolitan Detroit is affiliated.
If we are to win the peace, it is es-
sential that we continue to serve our
fighting men, our allies and our neigh-

Third War Loan Must Not Fail!

The Third War Loan has had a slow start in Detroit.
During the concluding days of this drive, there must be
sufficient encouragement from all groups in the community
to guarantee its complete success.
Appeals for the sale of War Bonds will be made in our
synagogues during Rosh Hashanah.
Let there be an unprecedented response from all wor-
shipers on these sacred days.
The Council of Orthodox Rabbis, the Michigan Syna-
gogue Conference, the Bnai Brith Council and other groups
are cooperating in a special issued by the Fraternal and
Religious Department of the Treasury Department.
Let us all help to push the drive- over the topin Detroit.
Back the Attack with War Bonds—for the sake of a
speedy Victory which must precede a lasting peace.
