With a $3,000,000 quota set
for the synagogues in Michigan
in the Third War Loan campaign,
the Michigan Synagogue Confer-
ence has issued an appeal to all
rabbis and officers of congrega-
tions to assist in this important
effort during the Holy Days.. The
appeal, signed by Osias Zwerd-
ling, president; Morris Mohr,
chairman of the Detroit region,
and Rabbi M. J. Wohigelernter,
secretary, reads in part:
"It is your responsibility as a
leader of your synagogue to see
to it that the appeal which will
be held on the last day of the
Third War Loan drive receive
the most generous response of all
worshippers. A three million
dollar goal has been set by the

Novelist Maintains
Hitler. Was Married

"Hitler's Wife" —by Antoni
GrOnciwicZ . (Paramount Publish-
ing Co., 305 Broadway, New
York) reveals that Hitler actu-
ally was married.
The publishers maintain that
the facts in this book are au-
thentic. They point to the au-
thor's standing as the winner of
the Polish prize for literature,
and to the fact that he is the
author of other widely-read
works.
Mr. Gronowicz's sensational
story, which was translated by
Donald S. Rockwell, is based on
facts he gathered from the Duke
of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha when the
author was foreign correspon-
dent in' Germany.
It is a sensational story about

Mad Adolf and Evi Braun, a story
which is replete with adventure
and intrigue. Evi Braun's heart
was stolen 'by a brat ado who
made a. laughing stock of her
husband, the Nazi leader Adolf
Hitler. The result was a succes-
sion of miserable experiences for
the young bride. Frustrated in
love, it is believed by those
who give credence to this story
that Hitler's subsequent insani-
ties may be traced to these early
experiences.
The story dates- .back to the
days when Hitler, before the last
war, was begging for meals. Even
for those who will refuse to be-
lieve what is presented as an
authentic story, there is there-
fore much valuable historical
material in Gronowicz's "Hitler's
Wife."
