D OSH HASHANAH 5704

is a Day of Judgment for the en-

IX tire universe. On the sacred days which inaugurate another

year for Israel, our people's prayer, in lands of freedom as well
as oppression, in the freedom of our homes in democratic coun-

tries as well as on the fields of battle, echo throughout the world.

We pray for the coming of the day when peace shall rule
on earth and when the vision of the Prophet—that "they shall
break their spears into pruning hooks . . . and nation shall not

make war upon nation any more"—shall become a reality.

The entire Jewish people prays on this New Year's day

Merl. Freedom soon shall reign on earth and that Victory for

human rights be marked by the safe return of our valiant fighters
from all fronts.
