spend 10 days in New York City.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Soss of Muirland Ave. are leaving this
week-end to spend a week in Williamsburg, Va., where they will
visit their son, Richard, who is stationed there with the Seabees.
Their daughters, Ellen and Betty, will accompany them.
Mr. and Mrs. Irving Hirschman of Whitmore Rd. have as their
guest Mrs, Hirschman's sister, Mrs. Nathan Schloss of Cleveland:
Capt. Howard Rand has returned to his post at Gardner Field,
Taft, Calif., after a few days' leave spent with his parents, Dr. and
Mrs. Morris Rand of Highand Ave,
Mr. and Mrs. Burton Clamage of San Juan Dr. have returned
from a 10-day visit in Denver, Colorado.
Word has been received that Miss Cecelia Shetzer, who is an
Assistant Field Director with the 'American Red Cross, is now
stationed in North Africa. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
•Isaac Shetzer of Longfellow Ave.
Miss Nancy Levin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Levin of
Cambridge Rd., returned on Tuesday to Cambridge School, Kendall
Green, Mass.
Mr. and Mrs. John Ginn of Boston Blvd. were hosts to a group
of their friends at a dinner last Friday evening at the Franklin Hills
Country Club.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Lambert of Whittier Dr. and Mrs. and Mrs.
Alfred Dreifus of Birchcrest Dr. are spending the week in Rondeau,
Ont.
Mr. and Mrs Lewis Ruskin of Washington, D. C., will spend the
week-end with Mrs. Ruskin's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ginsburg
of Chicago Blvd.
Capt. Bernard Frank Kaye is spending a ,10-day leave from his
post at Camp Polk, La., with his mother, Mrs. Bertha Kaye of W.
Philalelphia Ave.
Mrs. Ralph Melson returned to her home in New York City last
Tuesday after a two weeks' visit with her brother-in-law and sister,
Mr and Mrs. Herman J. Lewis of Griggs Ave.
- Mrs. Meyer Drews of 2515 W. Euclid Ave. has returned from
a visit with her son, Lt. Newton G. Drews, who is stationed at
Camp Grant, Ill. Lt. Drews will be married on Oct. 2 'to Miss
Betty Boulton of Chicago, at ,the Thorndike Hilton Chapel, Rabbi
Jacob Weinstein officiating. Lt. Drews, who studied at Wayne for
, a time, is a graduate of Chicago University and is a member of
Pi Tau Sigma. He entered the Army two and a half years ago.
Mrs. Drews visited with her future daughter-in-law while in
Chicago.
Mrs. Isaac Gilbert of Bbston Blvd. returned from Charlevoix,
where she spent the summer months.
Pfc. Stewart Schwartz has 'returned to his post with the Re-
connaissance Squadron, Aiken, S. C., after spending a 10-day fur-
: -lough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Schwar.tz

Mrs. Adolph Finsterwald of Hollywood, Calif., who is ,making
an extended visit in Detroit with relatives and friends, is a, guest at
the Statler Hotel.

Miss Norma Wittelshofer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Wit-
telshofer of Boston Blvd., left on Wednesday to enter Connecticut
College for Women in New London, Conn.
Mrs. Milton M. Alexander, her daughter, Helen, and her son,
.Tohn, haVe returned from an- extended Visit in Cincinnati with Mrs.
Alexander's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Mallen.
Dr. and Mrs. Samuel Cowan have returned to their home in
Hollis; Long Island, after a two weeks' visit with Mrs. Cowan's
brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. M. George Wayburn of
Pleasant Ridge.
Miss Rhoda Lou Hayden of the Belcrest Hotel and Miss Dora Lee
Rothberg of Chicago Blvd. have' left to enter Western College in
Oxford, 0.
Miss Rose Chapman of W. EuClid Ave. has returned from a
three weeks' vacation in New York, City. ,
Rcslyn Hurwitz of 1657 Gladstone Ave. is one of the 26 recent
graduates from Detroit high schools who have been named re-
cipients of Detroit Board of Education Scholarships and who entered
Wayne University as freshmen this week.
Bernard Rosenbaum, 21, son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Rosen-
baum of Cortland Ave., has returned home after his recent gradua-
tion from the University of Chicago. He will soon return to the
University of Chicago to take up 'his work as a physicist.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Faber of Chicago Blvd. have returned from a
10-day vacation at the Edegwater Beach Hotel in Chicago.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Zeff and family, formerly of Chicago Blvd.,
are now residing in their new home at 18065 Parkside Ave.
Lt. Monte Korn, of the U. S. Marine Reserve Corps, accom-
panied by his mother, Mrs. Sarah Korn, and his sister, Phyllis,
of 18041 Washburn, and Mrs. Harry Levine of Roselawn Ave., have
left for an extended trip to California. Lt. Korn, a recent graduate
of the Officers' Class in the Quartermaster School at Camp Lejune,
New River, N. C., will proceed to his station near San Diego, Calif.
Mr. and Mrs. Julian N. Lumberg, formerly of 15382 Tuller Ave.,
are in Los Angeles, visiting with Mrs. Lumberg's parents, Mr. an
Mrs. S. B. Ghinasin. Mr. Lurnberg is now in the U. S. Army and
is stationed at Camp Grubber, Oklahoma. Mrs. Lumberg is in
Los Angeles.
In honor of the golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. ,
Louis Rosenberg, their childern will have open house for relatives
and friends on Sunday, 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p. m., at their home, 12110
Wildemere Ave. No cards.
Ivan Shalit; son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Shalit, has left for
Staunton Military Academy, Staunton, Virginia.

This series is open to members

Hadassah. -

the subject: "What Zionism
