Home for Aged held its first

meeting of the year. Wednesday
at the Home. Plans were form-
ulated for the annual member-
ship tea to be held in October.
Mrs. Greenberg, president, will
name hostesses to assist at the
USO. Members have been asked
to donate to the Blood Bank of
Red Cross.

Mr. and Mrs. David Werthei-
mer of Waverly Ave., announce
the marriage of their daughter,
Laura, to Lt. Meyer Zolkower,
son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Zol-

The marriage took place in
Reno, Nev. The newlyweds are
residing at 856 Dennet Ave.,
Fresno, Calif., where Lt. Zor-
kower was transferred.

is aiding the War Bond drive by
purchasing Bonds. A contribu-
tion was sent to the United Aged
Home of Jerusalem. Members
will also act as hostesses at the
USO. The annual card party for
the memorial fund will be held
in November. A board meeting
will be held at 1 p. m. Tuesday
at the home of Mrs. Anna Wil-
hams, 3353 Dexter. Trees were
planted in memory of Sam Os-
nos in the Osnos Forest.

JWV and the Auxiliary have be-
gun their campaign for blood
donors by appealing to all De-
troit Jews to join in this effort
to help, smash Hitlerism.
All those interested in becom-
ing blood donors are asked to
phone the JWV headquarters,

evening except Friday evening
and Saturday.

Neugarten Sunshine Club has
resumed activities. Mrs. Samuel
Rothstein, with Mrs. Herbert

Sept. 13. Under the chairman-
ship of Mrs. Charles Rothstein
plans are being made for the
tenth annual donor luncheon,
proceeds to help defray the
club's expense and the work of
the war efforts committee.
The club's opening meeting

.eration of Women's Clubs, Mon-
day, Sept. 20, with the board
meeting at 11 a. m., and the
business meeting at 2 p. m., im-
mediately following a dessert

Women's Auxiliary of Jewish
Home for Aged met Sept. 9 at
the home of Mrs. M. J. Green-

berg, of Fullerton Ave., presi-
dent. Plans for the coming year
were discussed. During the sum-
mer, members of the Good Cheer
committee assisted in chauffeur-
ing the new station wagon which
the Auxiliary purchased for the
use of the Home, on weekly
trips to the market for produce.
