Women of All Faiths Pay Final Homage; Dr. Hershman Honors Veteran Jurist As a Jew and as an American Judge Harry Ben-Zion Keidan is dead! The entire community of Jews and Christians was plunged into a spirit of mourning when this news was broadcast on Monday morning. Operated on a week ago Sunday, Judge Keidan, one of the ablest jurists in America, died at 6 P. M. Sunday, at Ford Hospital. He would have been 61 on Nov. 1. The esteem in which he was held by all was evidenced at the funeral services at Clover Hill Park Cemetery Tuesday afternoon. Men and women of all faiths were there to pay final homage to the man they loved and admired. All Detroit judges were there, in addition to Judge Charles C. Simons of the U. S. District Court of Appeals, the Circuit Court Judges of Macomb and Oakland Counties and other high state officials. Dr. Hershman Pays High Tribute Dr. A. M. Hershman, who, since coming to Detroit 37 years ago, was closely associated in community affairs and in synagogue activities in Congregation Shaarey Zedek with Judge Keidan, paid tribute to the genius of the deceased as a Jew and as an American. Rabbi Hershman officiated at a brief service for the family at the home of the deceased, 18925 Parkside, before the body was taken to the cemetery for interment. Cantor Jacob H. Sonenklar chanted the El Molei Rachamim and other appropriate selections at the funeral services. Commencing his eulogy by reading Psalm 15, Rabbi Hershman spoke of Judge Keidan as a "Tzadik"—as a righteous man who lived by his faith. He pointed out that the jurist's death occurred on the anniversary of the death of his sainted mother. Pallbearers were Henry Meyers and Mortimer I. Aronson, cousins of Judge Keidan; Jacob Keidan, Cpl.
