read a message from Prof. Mik-
hoels.
Aaron Rosenberg, secretary of
the committee on arrangements,
who opened the meeting to intro-
duce Mr. Butzel, also delivered a

Russian Relief Committee's folks

Detroit as a member of the Rus-
sian Jewish delegation to this

crest Hotel in honor of Col.
Feffer.
Isaac Litwack, business repre
sentative of the Laundry and
Linen Drivers' Union (AFL), who
was in charge of arrangements
for the luncheon was toastmaster.
He was introduced by Jack Ell-
stein, vice-president of the CIO.
Speakers at' this luncheon in-
cluded the following:
Fred M. Butzel, Aaron Rosen-
berg, B. Z. Goldberg of New
York, John Gibson, CIO leader;
Patrick McNamara, vice-presi-
dent of the Detroit Federation of
Labor; Mrs. Myra Wolfgang, bus-
iness representative of the wait-
resses union (AFL), and Col.
Feffer.
Mr. Litwack expressed' the
hope that this event will be the
beginning of further cooperation
between the labor groups in De-
troit.
Speakers at the luncheon
praised the Soviet Union's gal-
lantry in this war .and expressed
gratitude for Russian bravery
which has speeded the victory
over Nazism.
Mr. McNamara took occasion
to praise efforts of Detroit Jews
in behalf of the war effort, and
he especially lauded the work
