Mrs. Benjamin Lambert and Miss Emma Butzel of the Belcrest Hotel have left for Mackinac Island where they expect to spend a month at the Grand Hotel. Mrs. Leo Croll and her children of Fairfield Ave. left last Saturday for White Sulphur Springs, W. Va., to spend the summer with Capt. Croll who is stationed at the Ashford General Hospital. Pvt. Irving William Oberfelder is spending his 15-day furlough from Camp Walters, Texas, with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Irving Oberfelder of Canterbury Rd. Upon his return, he expects to enter school to be trained as an Air Corp Flying Cadet. Mrs. David J. Levy of Boston Blvd. has as her guests her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. David J. Moskowitz of Blaine Ave. Dr. and Mrs. Shmarya Kleinman are spending the month of July in Boston, Mass., where Dr. Kleinman is taking a post-grad- uate course in the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease at Harvard Medical School. Miss Peggy Zipper of Baldwin, L. I., is visiting her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Levy of 4067 Pasadena Ave. Mrs. Max Fertel and daughter, Shirley, and Mrs. H. Gottlieb are vacationing at Lake George, N. Y., and will spend a few days in New York City before returning to Detroit. Mrs. Mildred Schumer left on Wednesday morning to visit with friends and relatives in Rochester, N. Y. She will also visit in New York City for a couple of weeks. SCHWARTZ The marriage of Miss Deborah Springer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Springer of Penn- ington Drive, and Cpl. Cyril Schwartz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice H. Schwartz of Birch- crest Drive, was solemnized on Friday, July 9, at Alexandria, La. Rabbi S. M. Lefkowitz, Chap- lain at Camp Livingston, Louisi- ana, performed the ceremony. Mrs. Springer and Mrs. Schwartz, mothers of the bride and bridegroom, attended the ceremony. The bride is a graduate of Central High School and attend- ed the University of Michigan during the past two years. She is a member of Alpha Epsilon Phi Sorority. The bridegroom is a graduate of St. Johns Military Academy, Delafield, Wis., and was a stu- dent at Michigan State College, East Lansing, Mich., at the time of his enlistment six months ago.
