The Detroit District Consumer Section of the Office of Price
Administration has issued a list of the highest prices which may be
charged for kosher beef, .veal and lamb.
Emphasis is placed on the fact that no one may be charged
more than these ceiling prices. Anyone who charges more is guilty
of breaking the law and his store is a black market. Such a person
is injuring his country and helping our enemies.
Furthermore, anyone who pays more than the ceiling price is
supporting the black market. The following rules must be followed:
• 1. Never pay more than the ceiling price.
2. Don't buy from a dealer who sells food without collecting the
proper number of stamps.
3. If a butcher reduces his point values, insist on a price re-
duction of at least 25 per cent. This is an O.P.A. regulation.
4. Report violations immediately to the nearest War Price and
Rationing Board office or the O.P.A., 600 Griswold St., RA. 9737.
