Women's Clubs

The Ladies of Yeshivath Beth
Yehudah have invited the stu-
dents of Yeshivath Beth Yehu-
dah, their parents, and friends to
a boat ride and picnic in Bob-Lo
Island, Sunday, June 20. The
boats leave from the foot of
Woodward at 10 a. m. and 2 p. m.
Tickets are at sale in the Yeshi-
. vah office, Dexter and Cortland,
and also until 10 a. m. at the
pier. The students of the Yeshi-
vah will compete in baseball and
tennis games. Prizes will be
awarded to the winners. All
friends of the Yeshivah are in-
vited.

Ladies' Auxiliary of Congrega-
tion Beth Shmuel will have an
"indoor picnic" June 27 at Jeri-
cho Temple. It will start at noon
and continue until midnight.

Hebrew Ladies Aid Society's
home cooked chicken dinner and
card party will take place at 6
p. m. this Sunday at the Dexter-
Lawrence Hall. Mrs. Jennie Wia-
trak, chairman, DA. 9172, is ac-
cepting reservations. Mrs. Matil-
da Kepes, president, invites the
public to attend. The list of new
officers will be announced next
week. The paid-up luncheon and
closing meeting will be held
June 30 at Dexter-Lawrence
Hall. Mrs. E. Engel is chairman.

Bricker - Jacob: Mr. and Mrs.
Harry Behrman of Webb Ave.
announce the marriage of their
daughter, Jane Jacob, to Lt. Alex
Bricker, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.
Bricker, on June 6. Dr. B. Bene-
dict Glazer officiated.

Zamler - Goldberg: The mar-
riage of Miss Katie Goldberg,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis
Goldberg of 3237 Waverly Ave.,
to Lawrence R. Zamler, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Zamler of
1681 W. Euclid Ave., was solem-
nized on June 13 at the Rose
Sittig Cohen Building. The cere-
mony was performed by Rabbi
Harold Rosenthal.
Miss Alyce Bigelman was maid
of honor and Bernard Zamler
served as his brother's best man.
Out-of-town guests were Mor-
ris Shaffer of Long Island, New
York, Mrs. Cornelia Rubin and
daughter, Raquel, of Pittsburgh,
Pa., and Lt. Sidney Cohen, who
has returned from England and
will be stationed at Fort Wayne.
After the reception, the couple
left to spend their honeymoon in
Catalina Island.

Kaplan-Drasnin—On Saturday
evening, June 12, Miss Sarah
Drasnin, daughter of Samuel
Drasnin of Broadstreet Ave., be-
came the bride of Percy Kaplan,
son of Chaim Kaplan of Winni-
peg, Manitoba. Dr. A. M. Hersh-
man performed the ceremony at
Lachar's on Twelfth St. Miss
Fanny Kaplan of Montreal was
maid of honor and Miss Saralee
Askin of Buffalo was the brides-
maid. The bride's brother, Aki-
vah Drasnin, served as best man,
and another brother, Mayer, was
the usher.

Complimenting Miss Shyrle Imber whose marriage to Lt. Jos.
Gilbert will be an event of July 5, Miss Barbara Suffrin gave a
bridge tea in her home in Westchester Ave., last Saturday afternoon.
Air Cadet Arthur Rimmer of London, Eng., has returned to his
post at Terrell Field, Tex., following a short visit with his aunt and
uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Smith of Fullerton Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry A. Schiller of Snowden Ave. had as their
guests, their son-in-law and daughter, Capt. and Mrs. Saul Sugar
and their small daughter, Susan. Capt. Sugar was on leave from
Barnes Hospital, Vancouver, Wash.
Miss Barbara Becker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Becker,
has invited a group of her friends to a ,party in her home on
Warrington Rd. on Saturday evening, June 26.
Mrs. Ben Garfield of Rochester Ave. is visiting her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Norman Rosenberg of Toronto.
Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Kanter of Calvert Ave. as their guest,
Mr. Kanter's mother, Mrs. A. Kanter of Saginaw.
Dr. and Mrs. Noah Aronstam of Eason Ave., are leaving Sunday,
June 20 by plane for New York City where they will visit their
daughter, Mrs. Louis Perelman and her small son, Louis Jr. Maj.
Perelman is stationed at Little Rock, Ark. From New York, the
Aronstam's plan to go to New Orleans to visit with their son, Lt.
Ralph G. Aronstam, at Station Hospital, Camp Claiborne, Ia.
Mr. and Mrs. Sam Albert, Mr. and Mrs. Simon Albert and Mr.
and Mrs. Harold Albert have returned to their homes in Grand
Rapids following a visit with their sister and brother-in-law, Mr.
and Mrs. Harry LeVine of Muirland Ave.
Mrs. Milton Meretzsky has returned to her home in Windsor
following a visit with relatives and friends in Toronto.
Maryan Fleisher will present a group of senior students in a
piano recital next Wednesday evening, and a group of intermediate
and junior students in a piano recital and demonstration of the
Dunning Course on Sunday afternoon, June 27, at 2:30. Both ) eci-
tals are open to the public and will take place at the Art Center
Music School.
Mrs. Arthur Gilbert of Byron Ave. will leave Saturday for Los
Angeles to spend a few .weeks with her sister-in-law, Mrs. N. R.
Greene.
Capt. and Mrs. Herman M. chesluk will receive their friends
and relatives at a reception in the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. Rosen-
shine, 1945 Oakman Blvd., Sunday evening, June 20, from 7 o'clock.

Camp Barkley, Tek.
In honor of Miss Peggy Greenfield's graduation from Central
High School this month, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ted- Greenfield,

regular Sunday meetings have
been suspended for the summer,

social in two weeks to complete
