Jewish Groups Here Respond
To Soldiers Cigarette Fund

A warm response was given this week by individuals and or-
ganizations to the Cigarette Fund for Servicemen established jointly
by Detroit A. Z. A. and The Jewish News.
A number of contributions, ranging from 10 cents to $5, were
received at the offices of A. Z. A. and The Jewish News.
Several organizations called upon the A. Z. A. and The Jewish
News to send speakers to their meetings to explain the purposes
of the fund, which is being hailed by servicemen and civilians alike
as of extreme importance.
The list of contributions this week is headed by three $5 gifts—
from Louis Berry, Mrs. Benjamin Goldstein and Palestine Aux-
iliary I. 0. 0. F.
The campaign was strengthened this week by the enlistment
of the cooperation of Mr. and Mrs. Hyman Altman and their Jewish
Radio Hours broadcast on Station WJLB on Saturday nights and
at noon on Sundays. Contributions received through the radio appeal
will be recorded on cigarettes shipped to servicemen as the "Altman
Jewish Hour and Jewish News Cigarette Fund."
Contributions to A. Z. A., Altman Hour and The Jewish News
Cigarette Fund may be sent with this coupon:
