Air Cadet Louis J. Gordon is here on a 10-day furlough from his
post at Ellington Field, Texas, with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Abe
Gordon of Webb Ave.
Al Schwartz left on Monday for his home in Los Angeles follow-
ing a six weeks' visit with Mrs. Schwartz' brother-in-law and sister,
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Halperin of Hazelwood Ave. Mrs. Schwartz is
remaining here a few weeks longer.
Mr. and Mrs. I. Broudy of Taylor Ave. have as their guest their
son, Pvt. Ernest Broudy, who is on a 10-day furlough from his duties_
with the U. S. Marines. Their son, Pvt. Clarence Broudy, has been
transferred from Camp Custer to Camp Hood, and their son
Sgt. Charles Broudy is to be transferred from "Athens, Ga., to Dallas,
Texas.
Mrs. Max Hirsch of Grand Ave. has returned from San Antonio,
Tex., where she visited with her son-in-law and daughter, Pvt. and
Mrs. Nathan Yoskovitz.
Mr. and Mrs. Herman Adler will have open house at their home
on Clements Ave. Saturday night, May 29, in honor of the graduation
of their son, Leonard E. Adler, from Lawrence Institute of Techno-
logy. Mr. Adler's engagement to Miss Beatrice Goldfarb was recently
announced.
Mrs. David Curtis has returned to her home on Clairmount Ave.
after attending the 56th wedding anniversary of her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Meyer Jenefsky of Dayton, Ohio. Mr. and Mrs. - Curtis had as
their house guest last week Mrs. David Maybrook of Dayton, Ohio.
Mr. and Mrs. Morris Wolf of Cortland Ave. had as their guests
their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Rubens. Mr. Rubens
is a Warrant Officer in the U. S. Army and is stationed in Boston.
Also visiting his parents is Pvt. Jerome Wolf, pre-metereology cadet
at the University of Chicago.
Mr. and Mrs. Meyer Ginsberg of Chicago Blvd. announce the
graduation of their son, Fred, from the University of Michigan on
May 29.
Miss Dorothy Fishman of 2945 Webb Ave. has as her guest Miss
Muriel Greenberg of Utica, N. Y. Both are students at the University
of 'Michigan.
Mr. and Mrs. George Kutzen announce the graduation of their
son, Gerald Martin, from the University of Michigan on Saturday,

Mr. and Mrs. Herman R. Sable of the Wilshire Hotel are en-
tertaining Mrs. Frances Paula Goldman of Brookline, Mass.
Mrs. Harry -Katzman, Mrs. Abe Katzman and the Misses Rose
and Sally Katzman entertained 80 guests at the Wilshire on May 25
at, a dinner and miscellaneous shower in honor of Miss Gertrude
Schefman, whose marriage to their nephew, Milton Rappaport, will
be solemnized at the Wilshire on June 20.

Home for Aged Auxiliary
To Honor Mrs. Lewis

On Wednesday the board of di-
rectors of the Women's Auxiliary
of the Jewish Home for Aged
met at the home of MrS. David
Kliger of Calvert Ave., and made
plans for the annual member-

ing gathering of the year to be
.held in June.
A resolution, read by Mrs. A. B.
Stralser, was adopted that a spe-
•eial contribution be made to the
Jewish Home for Aged for a
memorial inscription in the Gold-
en Book of the Home in memory
of -Mrs. Sarah Lewis, a past presi-
dent of the Auxiliary, who passed
away on May 4.
Mrs. Mark Benach, chairman of
the Good Cheer committee, is
organizing her committee so that
members will pay weekly visits to
residents of the Home.
