Election of Delegates Must Be Held Before June 7;
A Statement of Concern to All Membership Groups

The approaching American Jewish Conference ex-
emplifies the effort of American Jewry to mobilize its
strength and to unify its effort in behalf of world Jewry
in the post-war world.
We, in America, are practically the only community
of free Jews in the world who are in a position to speak
with authority in demanding equality of rights for our
Jewish brethren wherever they may dwell.
We, in Detroit, have a responsibility and duty to
perform in making this community venture a success,
and in assuring that the most competent and .best-
qualified representatives of the Detroit Jewish com-
munity speak for us at the American Jewish Conference.

YOUR ORGANIZATION MUST TAKE THE FOL-
LOWING STEPS IMMEDIATELY:
1—Call a special meeting of your organization not
later than June 6, 1943, to select nominees and to elect

your delegates to the local Election Conference.
2—Prepare a slate of candidates for election as dele-
gates. YOU MAY NAME NINE CANDIDATES.
3—Submit the names of your candidates on the
Nominating Petition for delegates to the National Con-.
ference. (Forms will be provided by the Detroit Election
Committee).

4—Forward to the Detroit Election Committee the

fee of $1.00 for each delegate on form for Certification
of Local Delegates (Forms will be provided). Fill in all
information called for in the form. Your list must reach
the Detroit Election Committee not later than June 7,

1943.

5—Be sure that your delegates are present at the
Detroit Election Conference, which will be held on

June 15, 1943, at 8 p. m., at Temple Beth El, Brown
