Betrothed

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Welt of Boston Blvd. are spending the
week in New York City.

Mr. and Mrs. Louis K. Lambert of Whittier Rd., are spending a
fortnight in Miami Beach, Fla.

. Mrs. A. J. Levin of Cambridge Rd. is spending a few days in
Cincinnati visiting her parents, Dr. and Mrs. David Wolfstein.
Miss Betty. Kahn of Lincolnshire Dr. has returned from a 10-day
trip to New York City.
Mr. and Mrs. William Field of Huntington Woods left on
Wednesday for an extended stay in Albuquerque, N. M.
Mrs. Herbert M. Smith of Shrewsbury Rd. and Mrs. Oscar
Zemon of Roslyn Rd. are spending a few days in Chicago.
Miss Edith Heavenrich of Trowbridge Ave. left on Wednesday
to spend 10 days in Milwaukee, Wis., as the guest of her brother and
sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Heavenrich.
Mrs. Edgar Oettinger has returned to her home in Cleveland
following a week's visit with Mr. and Mrs. Max Stotter of Santa
Rosa Dr.
Pvt. Robert Weisman has returned to his post at Barton Gen-
eral Hospital, Chickashee, Okla. following a 10-day furlough spent
with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Weisman of Edison Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Saltzstein have returned to their home in
Milwaukee following a 10-day visit with their son-in-law and
daughter, Mr. and Mrs. H. V. Kreger of Wildemere Ave.
Miss Stella Alpern of the Belcrest Hotel spent the past week-
end in Cincinnati.
Drs. Kenneth K. Belensky, Herman M. Lifton and Max S.
Moss were commissioned First Lieutenants in the Dental Corps
of the U. S. Army, and have left for Camp Grant, Illinois.
Mrs. Peter Vass and her daughter, Alice, of the Statler Hotel
have returned from a month's stay in Los Angeles where they
visited with Mrs. Vass' son-in-law and daughter, Lt. and Mrs. Allan
Tolmich.
Miss Sarah Frazer of Dumbarton Rd. and Mrs. Samuel Keene of
Atkinson Ave. returned on Friday from a few days' stay in Toronto.
Mr. and Mrs. Max Grosfeld of Farrand Pk. have as their guest
their son, Sgt. Walter H. Grosfeld, who is on a 10-day furlough from
his post at Drew Field, Tampa, Fla. Their other son, Sgt. Seymour
Grosfeld, who entered the service a few weeks ago, is stationed at
Camp Riley, Missouri.
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Hartman of Broadstreet Ave. are spending
a week in New York City.
Mr. and Mrs. Felix Mahler have moved from LaSalle Blvd. and
are now residing at 900 Whitmore Rd.
Lt. (j. g.) Howard Bloom spent two days with his family, Mr.
and Mrs. George Bloom of Tennyson Ave., enroute from Boston to
Gulfport, Miss. Mrs. Bloom and their son, Gary, who have been
spending some time in Florida, will join him in Gulfport.
Mrs. Charles Rothstein of Calvert Ave. has returned from Chi-
cago where she visited with her son, Ronald, who is a student at the
Morgan Park Military Academy.
Mr. and Mrs. Andrew D. Lorre of Kentucky Ave. have as their
guest Mrs. Lorre's sister-in-law, Mrs. Luitpold Eichorn of New York
City.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Brown of Saginaw spent the last week end
in Detroit as the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan H. Schermer of the
Lee Crest Apt.
Mr. and Mrs. Julian Tobias of Calvert Ave. and their daughter,
Sherry, have returned from an extended stay in Miami, Fla.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold J. Baskin and daughters, Iryce and Saun-
dra, of Cherrylawn Ave.,- and their house guest, Miss Elaine
O'Larry, have returned from Chicago where they spent the holidays.
Complimenting Miss Minverva Federman, whose marriage to
Sgt. Sidney Michalovitz will take place soon, Mrs. Julius Gunsberg
entertained on April 29 with a dinner and miscellaneous shower at
her home in Pasadena Ave. On May 6, Mrs. Harry J. Glasser gave a
dinner and shower at her home on Wager Ave.
Dr. and Mrs. Herschel Zackheim (Diana Bialosky) of New York
City are visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice H. Zackheim
and Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Bialosky of Webb Ave.
Pvt. Jacob M. Solomon returned to Camp Claiborne, Louisiana,
after spending a 10-day furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.
Solomon of Gladstone Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Glasier, Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Gottfurcht,
Mr. and Mrs. George Stocker and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Weingarden
entertained at dinner the soldiers who attended the special Passover
services which Rabbi Leon Fram conducted at the Jewish Commu-
nity Center on Sunday morning, April 25.
