Sobeloff Gets Year's Leave Here
To Help Form N. Y. War Fund

Executive Director of the Jewish Welfare Federation
Of Detroit for the Past Six Years Will Assist Dodge;
Pekarsky to Be Acting Director Here in His Absence

Isidore Sobeloff, for the past
six years executive director of
the Jewish Welfare Federa-
tion of Detroit, has been grant-
ed a year's leave of absence,
effective June 1, to help or-
ganize a National War Fund
in New York City, it was an-
nounced this week by Abra-
ham Srere, president of the
Federation.

The New York Committee
of the National War Fund will
conduct a united drive for
USO; United Nations war re-.
lief appeals and other war-re-
lated causes, in line with Pres-
ident Roosevelt's recommend-
ation that all such campaigns
be consolidated. Mr. Sobeloff
will be associated with Perci-
val Dodge, former director of
the Detroit War Chest, who
has been appointed executive
director of the New York
