J. A. The present world struggle for freedom in many respects parallels the story of Passover and the deliverance of the Jewish people in ancient times. As we celebrate the liberation of our people from the yoke of Pharaoh, American Jews are redoubling their efforts to assure liberation for millions of their fellow-Jews in many parts of the world. In place of the bonds of tyranny, they are forging the links of freedom and reconstruction through the agencies of the United Jewish Appeal for Refugees, Overseas Needs and Palestine. The Joint Distribution Com- mittee, United Palestine Appeal and National Refugee Service are the three great links in providing for war relief and rehabilitation overseas, for the defense and upbuilding of the Jewish homeland in Palestine and for the adjustment of refugees in the United States. In Detroit, these important agencies receive their support from the Allied Jewish Campaign, through the War Chest.
