Participating in the observance were Rabbi Morris Adler It is my distinct pleasure to announce to the Jewish commun- ity of Detroit that the Jewish National Fund Council has ac- quired its own offices at 11608 Dexter Blvd., corner of Burlin- game. For years we have suffered in Detroit from lack of proper facilities. T h e progress we have made has been achieved in spite of the lack of an efficient and centralized Wm. Hordes office force to carry on the work we have been doing in many fields—in the , synagogues, through our splendid Ladies' Auxiliary and Our many devoted committees. Mr. Nathan Linden has been especially helpful in assisting us in securing the new offices, and I am pleased to announce that he has accepted the post of chair- man of the house committee to supervise the work of the office. He will have the assistance of Mrs. Abraham Twersky. The, new headquarters' tele- phone number is TO. 8-8658. We are now in position to ren- der more valuable services in the redemption of land in Pale- stine. Soon, we will have the semi-annual collection of the Blue and White boxes. Our com- mittees are already active in planning the collections during the Passover week. On March 27, our youth com- mittee will stage a carnival,- at the Bnai Moshe, and we urge all to attend and to encourage our youth in their work. The Ladies' Auxiliary has just concluded a successful campaign for its annual donor event, held on Wednesday. Our people generally are be- coming more conscious of the importance of the work of the Jewish National Fund. The in- spiration we all derived from the national conference held here in December helped, considerably. Soon, we shall announce a ser- ies of special events in celebra- tion of the opening of our new offices. We invite all our friends to visit us in celebrating the "Chanukas Ha-Bais," the acqui- sition of headquarters, for the Jewish National Fund. and Abraham Meyerowitz, direc- tor of the Farband Schools.
