OVERSEAS
In response- to a plea by a delegation of
British leaders, including the Archbishop
of Canterbury and Cardinal Hinsley,
Catholic dignitary, that 2,000 visas be
granted for Jewish children who can be
rescued from Europe, Home Secretary
Herbert Morrison declared that only 250
children who have close relatives in Lon-
don can be brought to England.
Anti-Semitic articles carried by certain
Polish newspapers now published in Eng-
land stand in the way of an early rap-
prochement between the Soviet regime
and the Polish Government-in-Exile head-
ed by Premier Wladislaw Sikorski, accord-
ing to political observers in London.
The Bulgarian government has issued an
order confiscating all Jewish shares in
concerns manufacturing or handling ma-
terials needed for military purposes.

LISTENING

The Quisling Attorney General of Nor-
way, Jorgen Nordvik, has issued a state-
ment declaring that the recent deportation
of the Jews from Norway was ordered
by the Germans and that they alone are
wholly responsible for it. The Norwegian
Quislings considered the act "unfortunate,"
he asserted, but they were powerless to
do anything about it.,
PALESTINE
Sir Harold MacMichael, British High
Commissioner for Palestine, whose five-
year term of office was scheduled to end
on March 1, 1943 will stay for another
year beyond that, it was announced in
Jerusalem.
Lord Moyne, former British Colonial
Secretary, and now Deputy Minister of
State in the Middle East, has been visiting
Jerusalem. His normal post is Cario while
he is in the Middle East.

Honors Marriage of
Rabbi N. Rotenberg

The Orthodox community of
Detroit was represented by its
most distinguished leaders, in-
cluding nearly all the local Or-
thodox rabbis, at the marriage
of Rabbi N. Rotenberg, dean of
Yeshivath Chachmey Lublin, to
Miss Bergman of Cincinnati,
which was solemnized on Tues-
day evening at Jericho Temple.
Outstanding Orthodox rabbis
from more than a dozen com-
munities in the country were
present.
Rabbi Eliezer Silver or Cin-
cinnati, president of the Union
of Orthodox Rabbis, was among
those who officiated, together
with Rabbi S. Pardes of Chi-
cago, Rabbi Bender of New York,
Rabbi A. Eichenstein of Chicago,
Rabbi B. Z. Natalowitz of Louis-
ville, Rabbi Perlow of Brooklyn,
in addition to the Detroit rabbis.
