He Didn't Attend
Private Ed Mehr, Army Med-
ical Corps, reports from North
Africa that the first mail he re-
ceived following his arrival on
the dark continent was a delayed
letter from the Jewish Welfare
Board, which had followed him
half way around the world, in-
viting him to a Friday evening
social somewhere in South Car-
olina (where he was formerly
stationed).
Reunion in Morocco
Abe Bucksner enlisted in the
army a year ago. He said fare-
well to his friends and family
and to his brother Morris. Re-
cently Abe arrived in North Af-
rica.
Last week he was sitting in
his barracks, thinking how far
he was from home, and wonder-
ing what Morris was doing,
thinking how nice it would be
to see him. He sighed and looked
up—and, as you suspected by
now, there was his brother Mor-
ris who, mouth agape, was trying
to - say, "Well, I'll be—."
