Radio Broadcasters of Jewish
Hours Are Honored for
13 Years of Service
More than 1,200 trees have
been planted in the Altman
Grove in Palestine, in honor of
Mr. and Mrs. Hyman Altman,
who recently completed 13 years
of radio broadcasting, it 'was an-
nounced this week by William
-Hordes, president of the Jewish
National Fund Council of Detroit.
Shunning other honors, the
Altmans welcomed the oppor-
tunity of aiding the cause of land
redemption in Palestine by ac-
cepting this Donor at the hands
of the community. Hundreds of
individuals and close to '70 or-
ganizations participated in mak-
ing possible the planting of the
Altman Grove.
Spokesmen for numerous ele-
ments in the community partici-
pated in radio programs to pay
honor te the Altmans. Mr. Hordes
and other spokesmen for the
Jewish National Fund declared
that they had not realized what
a large following Mr. and Mrs.
Altman had created for them-
selves. There were no solicita-
tions for the Altman Grove, and
