ACTIVITIES IN SOCIETY

Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Bialosky of Webb Ave. have left for New
York City to attend the wedding of their daughter, Diana Shirley,
to Dr. Herschel S. Zackheitn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice H.
Zackheim, at 2 P. M. on Friday, Dec. 25, at Siegel's, 209 W. 38th St:
Rabbi A. M. Hershman, who is still in New York, will officiate
at the wedding. Dr. Zackheim is interning in the New York City
Hospital. His fiancee was transferred from the Ordnance Depart-
ment in Detroit to New York. The parents of the bride and• groom
Will be guests at the New York Barbizon Plaza Hotel. Miss Sadie
Weinstein of Cortland Ave., aunt of Miss Bialosky, has left for
New York City to attend the wedding.

Cantor and Mrs. A. A. Rosenfeld of 3346 Calvert Ave. enter-
tained a group of Detroit and Windsor friends in honor of Rabbi and
Mrs. Groner of Windsor.
Burton J. Lemberg, son of Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Lemberg of
225 Merton Road, has been commissioned a second lieutenant at
the Officers' Training School at Fort Warren, Wyoming. Lieut. Lem-
berg arrived home by plane for a 10-days' leave with his parents.
In honor of their son, Mr. and Mrs. Lemberg will be at home
Sunday, Dec. 27, 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p. m. No cards.
Cadet Michael Barnett of Tennessee Military Institute, Sweet-
water, Tenn., is spending the holiday vacation with his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Barnett of Leslie Ave.

On Dec. 14,.at the Wilshire Hotel, Mrs. S. Kutnick and daughters,
Mrs. M. Brodsky and Mrs. F. Wasser, entertained at a bridal shower,
given in honor of Mrs. Jack D. Kutnick, the former Ann Rosenfeld.
Miss Harriet Tenenberg, whose marriage to Marten Selik will
take place Dec. 27, has been honored at a shower given by her
sister-in-law, Mrs. M. H. Klein, Mrs. Norman Selik, Miss Mae Selik
and Mrs. Dorothy Selik, at Huyler's; at a shower at the Wilshire
given by Mrs. Mel Bencon and Mrs. Nettie Freedman; at a dinner
at Pallister Tea Room given by Miss Lee Fineman, anda.t a spinster
breakfast at the home of Mrs. Sadie Espar.

Nancy Schiller, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Arthur E. Schiller
of Chicago Blvd., and Fay Beth Schwartz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Theodore Schwartz of Boston Blvd., were hostesses to a group of
their friends at a dancing party given at the Schwartz home last
Friday in honor of Peggy Berris, who is moving to St. Louis.

The Women's Auxiliary of the
United Hebrew Schools will hold
its 11th annual fund-raising
event at congregation Shaarey
Zedek on Jan. 27, at 12:30 P. M.
Mrs. Charles Robinson is chair-
man of the luncheonette pep
meetings which will take place
weekly until the culmination of
the Donor Event.
Funds raised are used to main-
tain the buses which provide
transportation for the children
attending the Hebrew Schools.
At the next meeting of the
Auxiliary, on Dec. 30 at 1 P. M.

`V-Hop' to End Junior
Council Membership
Drive Next Sunday

The National Council of Jewish
Juniors will conclude its mem-
breship drive with a "V-Hop",
Sunday, Dec. 27, at 2:30 p. Til at
Temple Beth El. Miss Sylvia Col-
lins, program chairman, an-
nounces that Weldon Petz and
his 14-piece orchestra will pro-
vide the music. There will be a
program of novelty numbers,
with Miss Gertrude Leve acting
as mistress of ceremonies. The
committee in charge includes
Frances Cohn, Dorothy Fried-
man, Rose Nash, Frieda Nash,
Stella Brown, Ruth Rabinowitz,
Anne Stern, Ruth Mishy, Gert-
rude Pregerson, Evelyn Koppel-
man, Madeleine Lenhoff, Ruth
Sher, Bluma Nagler and Evelyn
Richwerger. Servicemen are in-
vited to attend as special guests.
Refreshments will be served.

Mrs. Samuel Shapiro of Rich-
ton Ave. and William Brand of
Glynn Court announce the en-

ginia, to Lieut. Harold Y. Hoff-
