Reports by Officers
"The 'Land for Freedom' Con-
ference is being convoked to
determine a practical course of
action which will strengthen
Palestine for its present needs
and future tasks; which will
aid the cause of the United Na-
tions in the Middle East and
help in winning the war and in
attaining a peace which must in-
clude the triumph of the Jew-
ish people's just cause • and the
restoration of the Jewish Na-
tional Home," Dr. Goldstein
stated this week. In his call to
the conference, Dr. Goldstein
added: "It is' incumbent upon all
Jewish National Fund Councils,
affiliated organizations and
Zionist groups to participate in
the formulation of this plan of
action and in the adoption of
the program for the period that

LAMPS
REMOVE THEM IMMEDIATELY!
FLUORESCENT LIGHTING is entirely different from the in-
candescent lighting we are all accustomed to using. One
important difference is this:
When a fluorescent lamp reaches the end of its normal life,
it does not simply go out and stay out. The starter switch
continues to operate and the lamp flashes on and off, or
glows steadily at both ends. These are warning signals.
WHEN A FLUORESCENT LAMP BURNS OUT OR FLASHES
ON AND OFF, REMOVE IT PROMPTLY. IF IT IS ALLOWED
TO CONTINUE FLASHING ON AND OFF, THE STARTER
WILL BE DAMAGED. IF IT IS ALLOWED TO CONTINUE
GLOWING AT BOTH ENDS, THE BALLAST MAY BECOME
OVERHEATED AND EVENTUALLY DESTROYED.
When a new fluorescent lamp glows steadily at both ends
but does not start, the starter is defective and should be
replaced.
The important thing to remember is that when a fluorescent
lamp does not operate properly, it should be removed
immediately to prevent costly damage to the auxiliary
equipment which is part of any fluorescent lighting system.
In following this simple rule you will be saving money,
conserving materials which may be difficult for you to
replace, and enjoying the maximum benefits of this effi-
cient and economical method of lighting. We do not sell or
replace fluorescent lamps or equipment.
