Armed Forces Sixty-seven physicians out of approximately 100 on the staff of the North End Clinic have donned khaki to serve in the armed forces of our country. This, it is believed, is the largest percentage of medical staff to go into the service from any clinic iri Detroit. In addition, one nurse, El- eanor Stanfield, is serving as a second lieutenant with the Army Nursing Corps in North Africa, and a member of the Board of Trustees, Capt. Ralph Mayer, is with the Air Corps. Two members of the general staff of the Clinic are in the service. One of them, Donald Harris, who started as mes- senger, while working his way through school, recently was granted a commission as a second lieutenant. The doctors of the Clinic are scattered in all parts of the world. Each month the Clinic office mails them .each a news- letter, keping them posted on the happenings back home. Many interesting letters have been received in return, and these are being compiled in a volume to be kept as a per- manent record. Despite the heavy demand upon their time, the doctors still serving the Clinic are donating their time daily for preliminary examination of men called up by the Selective Service boards. They also care for the families of men in service who are unable to pay for medical services. Thank Your Lucky Stars If you have the money and foresight to grab these bargains.
