Detroit Hadassah
To Honor Founder

"Reminiscences of Henrietta
Szold" will be the theme used to
honor the 84th birthday celebra-
tion of Miss Henrietta Szold,
founder of Hadassah, at the Oneg
Shabbat to be given by the De-
troit Chapter, at the Shaarey
Zedek, Saturday, Dec. 19, at 2:30
p. m. It is to be presented by
former presidents of the local
chapter.
Social arrangements for the
day are planned by Mrs. Abe
Kasle, chairman, Mrs. Allen Kra-
mer, Mrs. P. Stein, Mrs. A. 0.
Barsky and Mrs. Harold Baskin.
The annual "Member Bring a
Member" affair, which members
of the chapter are eligible to
attend acompanied by the mem-
bers they have brought in during
the year, or new members they
are bringing that day, will be held
at the Jewish Community Center,
Jan. 5.
Members who do not have a
new member to bring to this
meeting are urged to contact Mrs.
Al Weisman or Mrs. Harry Jones,
co-chairmen of the membership
committee, who have names of
prospective members to be in-
vited to this meeting.

Mrs. David Levy and her daughter, Miss Betty Levy of Boston
Blvd., are spending a few weeks in New York City.
Miss Nancy Levin is arriving this Friday from Cambridge
School, Mass., to spend the holiday vacation with her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. A. J. Levin of Franklin, Mich. On Saturday evening she
and Miss Claire Solomon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Solomon of
Longfellow Ave., • will be hostesses at a dancing party at the Great
Lakes Club.
Miss Ruth Yelling will arrive on Dec. 22 from Madison, Wis.,
to spend her vacation with her father, Dr. D. B. Welling of the
Belcrest Hotel.
Mrs. B. Benedict Glazer and small daughter, Stephanie, of Chi-
cago Blvd., are in Pittsburgh visiting Mrs. Glazer's parents.
Miss Harriet Shuchart will come from St. Louis on Dec. 25 to be
the guest of Miss Helen Myers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. I. Rodney
Myers of Longfellcw Ave.
Major and Mrs. Maurice P. Meyers and their small daughter,
Harriet, will return to Fort Sills, Lawton, Okla., on Saturday, Dec.
19, following a week's visit with relatives and friends.
Robert Enggass, a student at Harvard College, is arriving on
Sunday, Dec. 20, to spend his vacation with his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Clarence Enggass of Cumberland Way.
Jimmie Field, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Field of Huntington
Woods, is coming home from Dartmouth College for the vacation
period, on Dec. 23.
Miss Betty "Loewenstein, a student at Sophie Newcomb College,
and her brother, Bill Loewenstein, who. attends University of North
Carolina, are spending their vacations with their parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Joseph Burak of Longfellow Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. Israel Himelhoch of the Whittier Apt. have re-
turned from a short stay in New York City. .
Mr. and Mrs. Julian Zemon have moved from Parkside Ave.

Sigmund Robinson has returned to his home in Indianapolis
following a short visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar C.

Lieut. Hank Greenberg, formerly of Detroit, has been trans-
ferred from Fort Worth. Texas, to the Army Air Force Gunnery
School at Panama City, Fla..
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph S. Shroder of Moss Ave. and Mr. and Mrs.
Alfred Dreifus of Birchcrest Dr. are expecting their brother-in-law
and sister, Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Altschuler of Los Angeles, on Dec.

Dr. Samuel .1. Levin of Canterbury Drive, who has been com-
missioned Lieut. Commander in the United States Navy, will leave
for his post at the U. S. Naval Hospital, Norfolk, Va., on Dec. 26.
