Maurice Aronsson, who observed his 50th birthday last Friday
by entertaining 500 servicemen at dinner at the Book-Cadillac Hotel
and at theater afterwards, was in turn signally honored by his
friends in appreciation for his numerous kindnesses and for his
liberality to many causes, at a gathering at the Standard Club pre-
ceding the dinner.
The above photograph shows Giles Kavanagh, Collector of In-
ternal Revenue and head of the War Savings Department in Mich-
igan, presenting Mr. Aronsson with an American Flag in behalf of
the servicemen and with a United States Treasury certificate for
his work in promoting the sale of War Bonds.

Lawrence, who is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Rosenthal of
3046 Tuxedo Ave., was one of 178
contestants. His essay reveals a
deep understanding of the cur-
rent problems facing mankind
and the need for strengthening
the American ideal of fair play.
He wrote in part:
"Here is the great American
game of football. Here is the
game of life .. . winning, losing,
helping the other guy when he's
down, the glory and the back
seat . . . a world of panorama
. . . and it's all there, right down
there on the football field."
