Detroit Maps Program for JNF Rally
Entire Local Jewish Community Invited
To Join 'Land for Freedom' Conference
Community Is Asked to Join in Conference on Palestine
Redemption for Post-War Need Dec. 26-27; Dr.
Goldstein, Senator Barkley, Lipsky on Program
Delegates representing Jewish communities through-
out the land will participate in the "Land for Freedom"
Conference of the Jewish National Fund of America,
during the week-end of Dec. 26 and 27, at the Book-Cadil-
lac hotel.

Mr. Leonard has spoken to

published by Behrman's Jewish
Book House of New York.
The Jewish National Fund Con-
ference here will be featured by
exhibits of various Zionist pub-
lications, including the biography
of the late president of the Jew-
ish National Fund, Menahem
Ussishkin, written by Prof. Jos-
eph Klausner of the Hebrew
University of Jerusalem.

personal friend of Dr. Gold-
stein, Senator Barkley, who is
majority leader of the U. S.
Senate, has long been one of
the most ardent Christian sup-
porters of the Zionist move-
ment.

Isidore Sobeloff, executive di-
rector of the Jewish Welfare Fed-
eration of Detroit, will greet the
conference on Saturday night in
behalf of Detroit's Jewish com-
munity.

conference sessions will be sep-
arated by a luncheon which will
be followed by round table dis-
cussions of current Zionist and
land redemption needs.
At a conference of Detroit or-
ganizations, held Monday evening
at the Shaarey Zedek, the co-
operation of the general Jewish
community of Detroit was enlist-
ed for the conference. Rabbi
Morris Adler, chairman of the
reception committee, outlined the
