Job Discrimination
Prohibited in Canada
OTTAWA (JPS) — The Cana-
dian government has acted to
help suppress anti-Semitism by
issuing regulations making ille-
gal discrimination in employ-
ment against Jews and others on
account of race, creed or color,
it was announced by the Cana-
dian Jewish Congress, which had
charged that official placement
bureaus of the government were
aiding prejudiced employers in
their policy of keeping Jews out
of jobs.
It will now be illegal to stipu-
late "Christians Only," "Gentile,s
Only," and "Restricted" in ad-
vertising for help, the Congress
slated.
