plan the annual donor luncheon
to be held Jan. 19 at Pereira's,
9925 Dexter, under the general
chairmanship of Mrs. Joseph A.
Siegel.
Mrs. Morris L. Solomon, a
senor member of the board and
an active officer, was honored at
this luncheon by Mrs. Nathan
Blatnikoff and others, and was
presented with a gift as a token
of recognition of her many years
of untiring efforts in behalf of
the society.
Mrs. Charles Gitlin, attached
to the Navy Recruiting Station,
spoke of the advantages the
Navy holds for enlisted men and
urged young men of draft age
who are joining the armed forces
to call at the Navy Recruiting
Station, Room 355 of the Federal
Building, for further informa-
tion. Mrs. Gitlin also stressed the
importance of buying War Bonds
and Savings Stamps.

Young Women's Mizrachi will
have a rally at the Shaarey Ze-
dek on Monday, in preparation
for the club's donor luncheon to
be held Jan. 12, also at the
Shaarey Zedek. Mrs. Emanuel
Liebschutz will _have charge of
the rally. Mrs. Morris Adler will
be guest speaker. A dessert
luncheon at 1 will precede the
meeting.

Julius Rosenwald Auxiliary
No. 218 of American Legion,
sponsored a Hanukah entertain-
ment that was held for the Jew-
ish group at the Lepeer State
Home and Training School. The
service was conducted by Rabbi
Herman Rosenwasser of the
Downtown Synagogue who visits
this institution regularly as one
of the appointed chaplains. Pau- -
line Pepper and Mrs. M.- Apple-
blatt acted as hostesses, distrib-
uting gifts.
