The pictures above show a very successful parade of many units of the British forces which
took place in Jerusalem recently. The participants, among whom were many members of Jewish
units of the Forces, were enthusiastically cheered by the large crowds which lined the streets
and filled the balconies.
The marines are seen marching along King George Avenue, with the beflagged offices of the
Jewish Agency and the Jewish National Fund and the Yeshurun Synagogue in the background.
The photograph in the upper left shows a contingent of the Auxiliary Territorial Service (wom-

people carrying banners with the Hebrew initial "Gimel" for the word "Giyus" standing for
Recruiting. These pictures were received recently from Palestine at the offices of the Jewish
National Fund of America.
