democracy. The Weiss family is typical of the all-out war
effort of the. 584,000 Jews in Palestine, who look to us
to help them carry on the fight for freedom. Our support
for the United Palestine Appeal today will give refugees
from Hitlerism the opportunity to serve the cause of the
United Nations. Our support means more settlements
producing more food' for the armies in the Middle East,
more factories producing more war -goods, more pioneers
building villages and cities for themselves and for others
to come when the war is ended. In helping Palestine's
war effort' we help the war effort of our own country.
This is another major reason why substantial funds must
be raised for the United Jewish Appeal through the War
Chest of 1VIetppolitan Detroit.
