in the lecture hall of the Detroit
Institute of Arts at 10:30 A. M.

This ceremony was introduced by
Rabbi Leon Fram last year when
Temple Israel was founded, and
is based on the Simchath Torah

tradition for children to be called
to the Ark of the Scroll for spe-
cial blessing.
At Temple Israel, the youngest
children in the Religious School
and new members of the kinder-
garten classes come to the serv-
ice bringing flowers to lay before
the Ark and receiving the bless-
ing of the rabbi. Fifty little boys
and girls of the ages of four and
five will participate in the cere-
mony this year.
The season of Sabbath Eve
services has begun. Services are
held every Friday at 8:30 P. M.
in the lecture hall of the Institute
of Arts. A social hour under the
auspices of the Temple Israel Sis-
terhood follows the services. On
Friday night, Sept. 25, Rabbi
Fram will preach on the subject,
"A Review of the Year 5702".
On Oct. 2, his subject will be
"A Prospect of the Year 5703".
The public is welcome.
The religious school of Temple
Israel which meets at the Hamp-
ton Public School, 18460 War-
