Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Caplan and their daughter, Helen, of
Edison Ave. returned on Saturday, Sept. 5, from Charlevoix, where
they had spent the month of August. Their son, Private Sidney
Caplan, who was on furlough from Camp Custer, spent the Labor
Day week-end with his parents.

Thursday, Sept. 3, following a short visit with her mother, Mrs.

ter, Frieda, to Dr. James E.
Goodfriend, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Ernest Goodfriend, of Detroit.
Miss Goodman attended Indiana
University and is now a student
at Northwestern University. Dr.
Goodfriend, who attended Wayne
University and was graduated
from Northwestern Dental
School, is now a Lieutenant J. G.
in the navy.

Dr. and Mrs. A. Joseph Himmelhoch, their children, Martha,
Ralph and Jonathan, and their sister, Miss Charlotte Hirnmelhoch
of Kings ton Road, returned on Tuesday, Sept. 8, from their summer
home in Gaylord, Mich.

end guests of Mrs. Friedman's parents, Prof. and Mrs. Samuel M.

the Wilshire Hotel are expected to return this week-end from a
trip through Northern Michigan.

Mrs. Alexander Baruch has moved from the Belerest Hotel and
is now residing at 980 Whitmore Road. She returned on Tuesday,
Sept. 8, from Petersberg, Va., where she had flown to visit with
her husband, Private Baruch, who is attending the Quartermaster
School at Camp Lee.

to Richard Allan Serlin was an event of Sept. 5, Miss Dolly Fenton
entertained at a luncheon and shower at Huyler's an Tuesday,

Mrs. Jacob Friedberg of Boston Blvd. returned on Sept. 2
from a three weeks' stay in South Haven.

Miss Reva Rodin of Boston Blvd. spent the Labor Day week-
end visiting in Chicago.

Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Blumenthal of Muirland Ave. returned on
Sunday, Sept. 6, from a few days' visit with their son, Jerry, who
is stationed at Scott Field, Illinois, and has just received his commis-
sion as second lieutenant in the Army Air Corps.
