asked the inspector, trying to
identify this great Jewish fam-
ily.
"The Rothschilds are none of
these. They are Jews by tradi-

they marry out of the fold, they
adhere to that tradition," said
the Baron.
To which the inspector. net-

The great meeting at New

Dave Levy, skilled swimmin g

Camp Tamakwa, in Algonquin
Park ,Ontario, is training groups
of excellent swimmers at the

camp this season. In addition,
he is credited with developing
a splendid system of water safe-
ty. Levy is a popular University
of Michigan varsity swimmer.

The bathing system at Camp
Tamakwa is one in which haz-
ard is reduced to a minimum.
Provision is made as far as poss-
ible for prevention of accidents.
Swimming areas for various
classifications of swimmers are
clearly defined. From shore
there is a shallow area for non-
swimmers, extending to a deep
area for the swimmers and div-
ers. For the control of bathers,
a cap system is used. Red cap
denotes a non-swimmer, a blue
cap, a beginner. and a White .cap.

that the people of Palestine gen-

been carefully planned so that
there would be no Zionist dem-

crowd finished singing "Star
Spangled Banner," there arose
immediately they strainsof "Hat-

ence with mystic fervor. Adolph
Held, pleasant-looking president
of the Jewish Labor Committee,
. looked stunned at this "mass"
demonstration that wasn't on the
program ... The American Jew-
ish Committee had declined to
join the American Jewish Con-
gress, Bnai Brith and - Jewish_
Labor Committee in sponsorship
of the "mass" meeting—but the
newspapers gave the American
Jewish Committee's last-minute
message to the sponsors more
publicity than was received by
the three organizations which
had paid out their good money
for the great affair . . . Some-
body must have thought that a
message from Winston Churchill
would be both "safe" and stimu-
lating. It tuned out to be the
greatest boolr.:_rang to the Zion-

French Rothschilds, a Baron,
who arrived in this country with

this refugee more publicity than
the arrival of 10,000 others had
received.

Another objection is entered
by Prof. Max Gottschalk, direc-
tor of the Research Institute on
Peace and Postwar Problems of
the American Jewish Commit-

tributed to him to the effect
that "(Dr. Weizmann) may be
a scientist but he is only a
'ionist when it comes to Pales-
tine," Prof. Gottschalk says: "I
want to declare very categoric-
ally that I have never, in any
form, made that or any similar
statement."

Your columnist's comment is
then called "malicious fantasy,"
with Mr. Gaster saying that if
Deutsch had taken the trouble
