GUEST EDITORIAL

Are You Willing to Face the Music
If America Loses the War?

By LEONARD N. SEVIONS
Chairman, Advertising Committee, II. S. Treasury Department
Michigan War Bond Staff

This is straight from the shoulder . . . from one
Jew to another. If the United Nations lose this war,
we as a people, will be faced by the greatest catastro-
phy ever known to our race.
We have a tremendous stake in the. outcome,
Everything we have, everything we hope to hold,
everything we are, depends on Victory, and because
we all know every word of that statement is true, it
is our sacred duty as American Jews to go the limit
for that Victory.

Historic Photograph of Bible Translators

Three hundred thousand copies of the Bible published by the Jewish Pub-
lication Society will be distributed among Jews serving in the armed forces of
the United States. The text used is the translation made 25 years ago by out-
standing world Jewish scholars. The Jewish Publication Society has released
an historic photograph of the editors of its Bible translation taken as they
completed their task. From the left: Drs. Samuel Schulman, David Phillip-
son, Max L. Margolis, Solomon Schechter, Kaufmann Kohler, Joseph Jacobs
and Cyrus Adler. -
An abridged pocket Bible, based on the Jewish Publication Society's trans-
lation, is now being distributed among men in the services of the U. S. by
the National Jewish Welfare Board.
