PHILADELPHIA—The 25th annual convention of the
Zionist Organization of America opened here with a greeting
from Prisident Harding. A resolution introduced by Abraham
Goldberg, and adopted by the delegates, urged the British
government to secure immediate ratification of the Palestine
Mandate at the forthcoming meeting of the League of Nations.
The convention heard an address by Pinchas Rutenberg, stress-
ing the importance of his scheme for the electrification of
Palestine. Following his speech the meeting voted approval of
the plan.
KOVNO—A Ministry for Jewish Affairs, with the same
rights and privileges of other minority ministries, will be
established in the Lithuanian goVernment, thus ending a dis-
pute of many months concerning the Government's threat to
abrogate certain national rights guaranteed by them to the
Jews.
WASHINGTON—A bill providing for the creation of a
special Congressional committee to investigate the naturaliza-
tion conditions in the federal courts, which are far behind in
dealing with citizenship applications, has been introduced in
the House by Rep. Siegel.
