STOCKHOLM, (JTA)—Two hundred and fifty-eight
Jews have been executed in Berlin by the Gestapo, - and Leading Organizations Unite

their families deported to Eastern Europe, in retaliation
for an alleged attempt to blow up the anti-Bolshevist
June 29
exhibition now on view in the German capital, according
The memory of the late Abra-
to reliable reports reaching here this week.

The Gestapo claimed to have
discovered five time bombs at
the exhibit on May 27, the re-
ports state. Immediately, they
charged a "Jewish plot" to de-
stroy the anti-Russian exposi-
tion and proceeded to round up a
large number of Berlin Jews al-
legedly implicated in the "plot."
Although Jews are easily dis-
cernible wherever they appear
because of the Mogen Davids
which they are compelled to wear
and are barred from the prin-
cipal streets in Berlin, including
the one on which the exhibition
was located, the Gestapo asserted
that it had definite proof that the
Jews were responsible for plant-
ing the bombs.
EXECUTED NEXT DAY
The arrested Jews were sen-
tenced and transferred to the
Alexanderplatz police station.
Their wives and children were
confined simultaneously in the
Lawero•strasse Synagogue, the
only one left in Berlin—which
now is used by the Nazis as a
concentration center for Jewish
deportees. Early the next day—
May 26—the Jews were removed
from the Alexanderplatz police
headquarters and taken by trucks
to the S. S. barracks at Gross
Lichterfelde, in the suburbs of
Berlin, where they were lined
up and machine-gunned en masse.
Later, when transportation fa-
cilities were available, the fam-
ilies of the victims were herded
into trains and deported to an
unknown destination in Eastern
Europe.
Following the shootings, which
were not announced in the Ger-
man press or by the Nazi radio,
the leaders of the Jewish com-
munity in Berlin were summoned
to headquarters and informed of
the executions. They were
warned that, if "any further Jew-

WASHINGTON—The Cable act which allows
all alien married women the same right to naturaliza-
tion as is now extended to male foreigners was passed
in the House by a vote of 206 to 9. It also provides
that alien women no longer receive citizenship by
marrying citizens but must file their own applications,
which can be granted after one year, instead of the
usual five-year waiting period . . . The House of
Rules Committee today voted to grant a special rule
to the Fish resolution, which would place the United
States on record as favoring a Jewish home in Pales-
tine.

to the Jews. Zionist circles here feel that the vote
will not involve immediate political consequences in
Palestine. It is believed that it is still within the power
of the Government to maintain the Mandate in its
present form and to see to it that it is ratified by the
League of Nations on July 15.
BERLIN—It is reported here from Moscow that
Red troops have been sent to sections in White Russia
and the Ukraine where robber bands are reported to
