A conference of presidents and
vice-presidents of Jewish organ-
izations in Detroit was held in
behalf of the Jewisn Theater
Guild on June 3, at the Work-
men's Circle Educations'. Center.
The conference was under the
chairmanship of Aaron Rosen-
berg, president of the executive
board of the Guild. Speakers in-
cluded Mark Yuvillei , Harry
Weinberg, Isaac Finkelstein, Mor-
ris Mohr, Jack Newman, Jacob,
Margolis, Mrs. Ethel Shorr and
S. Lifshitz.
The conference, attended by
49 presidents and vice-presidents,
unanimously adopted recom-
mendations, expressing congrat-
ulations to the Guild upon its
founding and pledging the aid of
their organizations in the mem-
bership drive of the Guild.
The following representatives
pledged a total of 500 members
for the Guild, aside from the
quotas placed upon their organ-
izations: S. Barov, D. Gorenbein,
S. Jacobson, Mr. and Mrs. Isaac
Finkelstein, Mrs. Ida Komaroff,
Harry Kessler, Jack Newman, J.
Newberg. J. Rosenshine, Mr. Sil-
verstein, Morris Sklare, Mr. and
Mrs. Harry Weinberg, H. Wexler,
and I. Zemel.
The women's committee is en-
gaged in establishing contact
with women's organizations. The
last meeting took place at the
home of Mrs. Harry Mitz on June
11.
The youth division had as its
guest at their meeting on June
8, the famous Jewish actor, Leib
Kadison, who spoke on the work
of the Vilna Troupe, the famous
Jewish cooperative acting com-
pany of Poland that visited
America with great success sev-
eral years ago, and of which Ka-
dison was a member of the gov-
erning body.

over Weinberg's Jewish Hour on
station WJBK urging the Jews.

since it was first produced 50
years ago.
Moist e Oysher, brilliant can-
tor, will enact the title role. He
will be assisted by an all-star
cast of Yiddish luminaries, not-
ably Ludwig Zatz, Samuel Gold-
enberg, Michael Michalesko,
Celia Adler, Betty Siminall and
Menachim Rubin, as well as a
large and distinguished chorus
numbering over 100.
Edwin A. Relkin is sponsoring
the revival. The production has
been staged by Isadore Cashier.
Tickets are now on sale at the
box office.

Her latest patriotic song, "Keep

Phil Brestoff's trio at the Statler

played on Station WJBK and
was sung by Jack Arnold.
