Friday, June 12, THE JEWISH NEWS Page Fourteen Jews Demand Restoration Of All Rights Post-War Program for Re- habilitation of Axis Victims Outlined by Council NEW YORK, (JTA)—A pro- gram providing for the restora- tion of all rights to European Jews immediately after the suc- cessful conclusion of the war—. even before the peace conference meets — was proposed here this week in a resolution adopted by 300 leading Jews from 13 Axis- o c c u p i e d European countries, meeting to form an Advisory Council on European-Jewish Af- fairs. The demands set forth by the Council, which will be associated with the World Jewish Congress, are: 1. Total abolition of all anti- Jewish measures introduced by the Axis powers; 2. Right of all refugees to return to their homes and the positions from which they were driven; 3. Restoration of all Jewish property confiscated by the Axis powers on the same terms as will apply for non- Jewish property; 4. Insertion of guarantees against anti-Semitism in all agreements providing for the social and economic rehabili- OBITUARY Mrs. Bessie Adel, of 1664 Glynn Court, a resident of Detroit for more than 50 years, died on May 29 at the age of 67. She is sur- vived by her husband, David, a son, Harry, a daughter, Lillian, a sister, Mrs. Gussie Feldman, and a brother, Jacob Dunn. Mrs. Adel was affiliated with many charitable organizations, among them the Sisterhood of Congregation Shaarey Zedek, Jewish Home for the Aged, Jew- ish Children's Home and the De- troit Chapter of Hadassah. Hershman officiating. * * Israel Kahn: Funeral services were held Sunday in the, Hebrew Memorial Chapel, 2995 Joy Rd., for Israel Kahn, one of the founders of the Globe Fur Co., 1368 Broadway. Burial was in Beth Yehuda Cemetery. Mr. Kahn was born in Austria 54 years ago and came to Ameri- ca in his teens. He had lived in Detroit for more than 20 years, his home being at 610 Blaine Ave. He was a member of Craftsmen Masonic Lodge and Moslem Tem- ple Shrine. He leaves a nephew, Philip Kahane, and a niece,. Anne Kahane, of Detroit. 4. * * Mrs. Sarah Granet: Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Granet, buyer of women's apparel for Klines since 1930, were held Sun- day at the °Lewis Bros., !Funeral Home, John R. St., with burial in Cloverhill cemetery. Mrs. Granet had been ill only a week. A native of Sault Ste. Marie, she had lived in Detroit since she was four years old. She be- gan designing clothes after her marriage to Jules Granet, and ddring her association with Klines became one of the best liked members of the staff.
