LOS ANGELES (JPS) — Joe
Weber, the other half of the up-
roariously funny burlesque team
of another era, Joe Weber and
Lew Fields, died here at the age
of 74. Both Jews, Weber died
ten months after his life-long
partner, who passed away last
July.
In more than fifty years of en-
tertainment, Weber and Fields
won acclaim as an exceptionally,
funny Dutch comedian team.
Weber and Fields were the
first comedians to burlesque cur-
rent stage hits. As Meyer and
Mike, the two men, for a period
of many years, dominated the
American show world.
