Jewish News to Publish Most
Appropriate Biblical Verses

The Jewish News is pleased to announce a con-
test among the Hebrew and religious schools in De-
troit for the best Biblical quotations of the week that
are most applicable to the situation affecting world
Israel in the present crisis.
This week, the following quotation was submit-
ted by Meyer Mathis' graduating class of the United
Hebrew Schools:
"And I will put My spirit in you, and ye shall
live."—(Ezekiel, chapter 37, verse 14).
The Jewish schools of Detroit are invited to par-
ticipate in these contests, and the verses selected as
the most appropriate for the week will be published
in our forthcoming issues.

Easter:—A Word To Christians

On the eve of Easter Sunday, as we exchange greet-
ings with our Christian friends on the occasion of the ad-
vent of spring and of our own great Passover Festival of
Freedom, we venture to say a word to our neighbors who
observe another faith:
Let us not repeat the errors which have brought de-
struction upon Europe ! Let us avoid the injection of re-
ligious hatred in our homes, in our our houses of worship,
in our dealings with our friends! Instead, let us propagate
the ideals of peace and good will on earth, in the spirit of
all religions.
Together, aspiring to such an ideal, we are in position
to retain the greatness of America. Working separately in
a venomous way, we are certain to bring down the wrath
of Providence upon America. Let us avoid this! Let there
be an end to the spread of distrust and passionate hates!
Let there be a spirit of inter-faith good will among Ameri-
cans, in order that in the years to come there may be
peace for all mankind!
