the American Jewish Congress at

Mrs. Silverman has been vice-
president of the Zionist Organiza-
tion, American Jewish Congress,
National Hadassah, N a t i o fidt 1
Young Judea, United Palestine Ap-
peal and Hebrew University Hos-
pital Building Fund, which she
launched. She organized the Rhode
Island campaign for the Relief of
the Oppressed Minorities and Reg.
ugees in 1939.
Mrs. Silverman spent three
weeks in Mexico last year on be-
half of the Zionist Organization
and seven months in South Amer-
ica on a speaking tour in the in-
terests of the American Jewish
Congress. She returned from an
investigation tour of Rumania,
Lithuania and Poland three weeks
before war was declared.
