SOCIAL
JUSTICE - ON TRIAL
We are at war—but it seems to make little difference to those
who, in pre-war days, have been spreading germs of hate.
The fact that we are threatened by the Nazi way of life has nut
affected the thinking of the Royal Oak geniuses who are producing
the anti-Semitic sheet known as "Social Justice."
But Americans who have learned the lessons of the war re-
cognize the dangers inherent in the threats that come to us from
the Axis.
Therefore, the demands for the investigation—even the sup-
pression—of. "Social Justice" (what a misnomer!) ought to make
Americans of all shades of opinion feel encouraged that justice is
not dead and that the realization of the great needs of the present
crisis is strong.
"Social Justice is not a Catholic periodical," is the charge level-
ed against Father Coughlin's organ by the Pittsburgh Catholic
It echoes the warning of the Nation and other liberal
magazines.
It corroborates the fears of leaders in all walks of life in our
land that the Coughlinites are a menace to the peace of this land.
"Social Justice" is on trial.
The sooner the verdict of GUILTY is issued, the better for
America and for all justice-loving Americans.
